CATIE successfully concludes the first edition of the International IAgros Diploma Program and prepares a second edition for 2027

- Over four months, professionals from ten countries strengthened their expertise in innovation, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and agribusiness management, building a regional community committed to transforming agrifood systems.
The first edition of the International Diploma in Sustainable Agribusiness Innovation (IAgros), offered by CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) through the AGROMIRA platform, concluded with highly positive results, establishing itself as a valuable professional development program for those seeking to address the current challenges facing the agrifood sector.
Over the course of four months, more than 35 participants from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama, Paraguay, Mexico, Honduras, and Ecuador shared experiences while strengthening their knowledge and skills in innovation, sustainability, value chains, financial management, project development, and artificial intelligence applied to agribusiness.
Beyond its technical content, IAgros fostered the creation of a regional learning community where the exchange of experiences among professionals from diverse sectors enriched each module and generated new opportunities for collaboration.

"The IAgros Diploma Program provides training and updates on innovative agribusiness processes that help us respond to today's labor market and economic changes," said Vinicio Toledo, a participant from Guatemala.
"The first edition of IAgros confirmed that Latin America has a growing need for training programs that combine innovation, sustainability, and practical tools to strengthen agribusiness. Beyond the knowledge gained, it helped build a regional community of professionals, faculty members, public servants, international consultants, and entrepreneurs committed to transforming agrifood systems through their different disciplines and roles within the sector," said Andrea Garay, coordinator of the diploma program.
Following the success of this first edition, CATIE is already preparing the second edition of the International IAgros Diploma Program, scheduled to begin in March 2027. The new edition will incorporate improvements based on the experience of this inaugural cohort and will continue integrating artificial intelligence tools and updated content to meet the evolving needs of the agribusiness sector.
