CATIE presents its academic programs at Guatemala’s 2026 National Scholarship Fair

- CATIE’s participation gives Guatemalan professionals the opportunity to learn about graduate programs in strategic areas such as climate change, forests, agroforestry, coffee, water, and sustainable agribusiness.
CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) is participating in the 2026 National Scholarship Fair from September 3 to 5, organized by Guatemala’s Secretariat for Planning and Programming of the Presidency (SEGEPLAN), where it is presenting its graduate academic programs and providing guidance to professionals interested in continuing their education in areas related to sustainable development.
The fair brings together more than 30 national and international institutions and cooperation organizations offering scholarship opportunities for undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and specialization programs. In addition to presenting financing options, the event provides guidance and support to those seeking to move forward with their application processes.

During the event, CATIE is presenting its various educational opportunities for professionals interested in specializing in areas such as tropical forest and biodiversity management and conservation, watershed and water management, economics and climate change, agroforestry and silvopastoral systems, coffee production, and sustainable agribusiness.
CATIE’s participation provides an opportunity to bring its international academic programs closer to Guatemalan professionals and provide information about its programs, study modalities, admission processes, and available financing options.
The opening of the 2026 National Scholarship Fair was attended by the President of the Republic of Guatemala, Bernardo Arévalo, and SEGEPLAN Secretary Carlos Mendoza. The event brings together representatives of academic institutions, cooperation agencies, embassies, and organizations that offer educational opportunities for Guatemalan students and professionals.
