CATIE visited the British Embassy in Costa Rica
- The work of the institution in Latin America and the Caribbean was unveiled during the visit
September 8th, 2017. Seeking for a rapprochement with the United Kingdom, CATIE (The Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), represented by Nigel Poole, President of the Board of Directors and Muhammad Ibrahim, Director General, visited the British Embassy in Costa Rica this September 8th; where they were attended by the ambassador, Ross Denny.
During the meeting, Ibrahim and Poole presented to the Ambassador the basic functions of the institution, as well as the main results of the work carried out by the Center in its mandate region.
In addition, they shared with other members of the British Embassy, including Andrew Castle, vice-consul, and Luisa Pastor, director of the Trade and Investment section, in order to understand the private sector's commitment in Costa Rica.
Finally, it was agreed that the Embassy will facilitate the participation of CATIE in an exhibition of agricultural commodities to be held from September 20 to 21, with the participation of commercial intermediaries.
