University of Gottingen and CATIE sign Cooperation Agreement
- Both institutions will work together to strengthen research and projects, as well as promote student and faculty exchanges.
September 2, 2021. Last August, the agreement between UGOE (George August Universitat Gottingen), Germany, and CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) was formalized for a period of 5 years (from the date of signature) with the possibility of renewal. Its main objective will be to strengthen the development of joint research and projects, as well as to promote the exchange of students and professors between both institutions.
Through this agreement, the possibility of doing internships at the University of Gottingen is enabled, whose academic year is of 2 semesters; one in April and the other in October of each year. CATIE will also be receiving interns according to the academic calendar.
CATIE students will be able to participate in the Göttingen Intercultural Connections, an initiative to strengthen the connection and exchange between students and 12 to 15 places will be offered for students from Latin American and African partners.
This agreement was managed through the Economics, Environment and Sustainable Agribusiness Unit (UEAAS, its Spanish acronym) and is coordinated by CATIE's Education Department, with Mr. Roberto Quiroz as the focal contact.
