Latin American Chair for Ecology in Tropical Forest and Biodiversity Management

The goal of our work at CATIE from this chair is to make a decisive contribution to the success of conservation efforts and sustainable use of forest biodiversity and territories at multiple scales in Tropical America.

Through research, we generate reliable scientific information on the impacts of human activities in modified landscapes and natural ecosystems. This research is developed largely by graduate students whose results enrich education activities.

Among our outreach activities we design and evaluate participatory strategies for management and conservation.
