In the Kenton Miller Latin American Chair for Protected Areas and Biological Corridors we direct our efforts toward strengthening institutions, consolidating their strategies for the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of their ecosystems, through the management of protected areas as well as their areas of influence and buffer zones, including biological corridors.
We also facilitate the creation and maintenance of an extensive network of partners and contacts, with the aim of improving the effectiveness of the work done in the region and stimulating interactions among network members.
Our efforts are focused on these areas:
- Expanding the range of courses offered
- A technical cooperation program to support the Work Plan for Protected Areas
- The development of the research agenda
- The expansion of the network of partner institutions to seek synergies in the development of the agenda at the Latin American levelsearch
