Panama is a member country of the CATIE since 1974, was one of the first to join in the 80s and 90s, our presence in Panama was made through large regional projects or programs.
Since 2000, CATIE has a Technical and Administrative Office in Panama led by a representative who coordinates, manages and develops the core activities of CATIE nationwide, supported by an administrative assistant. The NTO Panama is part of the institutional structure of the CATIE and responds to the Division of Outreach and Development, which in conjunction with the Services Management and Provision Unit (SMPU), develops aspects of Innovation for Development
We also have a team of key partners and allies of governmental, private and scientific sectors that conform our National Advisory Committee.
There is close coordination among CATIEs scientists Programs and Panama NTO. Similarly, we coordinate with the Graduate School in the promotion and monitoring of racing and training.
We have a large number of partners and strategic allies. 36% belong to non-government sector, 15% are institutions of government and the other 15% are especially linked to forestry companies.
