Central American Program for the Comprehensive Management of Coffee Rust (PROCAGICA): <\/strong>Initiative financed by the European Union, where CATIE implemented 50 research plots in coffee agroforestry systems in the departments of La Paz, San Miguel and Usulut\u00e1n, in coordination with the IICA and the \u201cEnrique \u00c1lvarez C\u00f3rdova\u201d National Center for Agricultural and Forestry Technology (CENTA).<\/p>

Project Development of sustainable forest models and links to private financing for secondary forests: <\/strong>It is financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and is executed in coordination with the General Directorate of Forest Planning, Watershed and Irrigation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food. This project seeks to strengthen the capacities of institutions and producers for the management of secondary forest in the department of Moraz\u00e1n.<\/p>

Regional Climate Change Program (RCCP): <\/strong>It is a project coordinated from El Salvador, an initiative financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with which climate information capacities were strengthened for adaptation and environment.\u00a0<\/p>

Waterclima LAC - Coastal Zones Project: <\/strong>It is an initiative financed by the European Union. Its results focused on strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the public and private sectors for coastal zone management and the design of technical and financial mechanisms for coastal zone management, local strengthening, capacity building, outreach and networking. Work was done with public and private sector institutions in the departments of La Paz, San Vicente and Usulutan.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

  • 65<\/strong> consultancies and projects <\/strong>related to agricultural management and natural resources and environment have been carried out.<\/li><\/ul>
    • In the last 10 years, 290 Salvadorans (63 women and 227 men) have participated in our short courses, strategic courses, and technical diplomas at CATIE's headquarters.<\/li><\/ul>
      • More than 8000 rural families <\/strong>have benefited from methodologies and tools to improve their livelihoods and management of renewable natural resources.<\/li>
      • 86 graduates (58 men and 28 women), 3.23% of the total CATIE graduates and more than 2000 <\/strong>national professionals <\/strong>have participated in various trainings.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

        • The work areas have been the most vulnerable rural populations in the departments of El Salvador.<\/li><\/ul>
