{"id":13111,"date":"2022-05-27T09:33:20","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T15:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=13111"},"modified":"2022-05-27T09:39:13","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T15:39:13","slug":"el-proyecto-pinn-sostiene-sesion-de-trabajo-con-la-vicepresidencia-de-guatemala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2022\/05\/27\/el-proyecto-pinn-sostiene-sesion-de-trabajo-con-la-vicepresidencia-de-guatemala\/","title":{"rendered":"PiNN project holds working session with the vice-presidency of Guatemala"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>After successful results during the first phase of the project, the second phase is currently underway with the objective of strengthening evidence-based nutrition governance.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>May 27, 2022. <\/strong>On Wednesday, May 25, a joint meeting was held with the Vice President of the Republic of Guatemala, Guillermo Castillo Reyes, <em>Capacity for Nutrition<\/em> (C4N), the Secretariat of Food and Nutrition Security (SESAN), the European Union (EU) delegation in Guatemala, and CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), in order to hold a working session to strengthen the National Nutrition Information Platform Project (PiNN).<\/p><p>This project is currently in its second phase and is implemented by CATIE in coordination with SESAN and financial support from the EU. In this second phase, the objective is to improve maternal and child nutrition, with the aim of putting an end to all types of malnutrition by 2030. <\/p><p>Through the first phase of the PiNN project, the capacities of SESAN and local governments have been strengthened; eight municipal information systems have been established; a departmental information system for food and nutrition security has been established; and more than 1,100 people have been trained in public policies for food security and nutrition, as well as in data analysis and
