{"id":26580,"date":"2024-04-19T14:52:55","date_gmt":"2024-04-19T20:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=26580"},"modified":"2024-04-19T14:57:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-19T20:57:55","slug":"catie-estrecha-lazos-de-cooperacion-con-la-oea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2024\/04\/19\/catie-estrecha-lazos-de-cooperacion-con-la-oea\/","title":{"rendered":"CATIE strengthens cooperation ties with the OAS\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><em><em>Representative of the OAS General Secretariat in Costa Rica visited CATIE's campus in Turrialba.\u00a0<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>In order to learn about CATIE's work and identify possibilities for cooperation, the representative of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Costa Rica, Milagro Mart\u00ednez Bonilla, visited CATIE's campus in Turrialba, Costa Rica, on Thursday, April 18.\u00a0<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26583\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/visita-OEA2-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p>Martinez was received by the Director General of CATIE, Dr. Luis Pocasangre, who highlighted the close relationship between the two institutions, in addition to IICA (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture) as part of the Inter-American System. \"These are two institutions that have been pioneers since CATIE's inception. That is why we are very pleased to have these organizations working closely with us,\" said Dr. Pocasangre.\u00a0<\/p><p>The OAS representative witnessed the work of the Biotechnology Laboratory and visited the international coffee and cocoa collections located at CATIE's facilities. She also took a guided tour of the AgroInnova project's Agrosilvopastoral Goat Module and ended her visit at CATIE's Botanical Garden.
