{"id":31815,"date":"2025-01-31T11:18:34","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T17:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=31815"},"modified":"2025-01-31T11:19:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T17:19:22","slug":"honduras-impulsa-la-construccion-de-guias-para-la-ganaderia-sostenible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2025\/01\/31\/honduras-impulsa-la-construccion-de-guias-para-la-ganaderia-sostenible\/","title":{"rendered":"Honduras Promotes the Development of Guides for Sustainable Livestock"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em><em>The country's livestock sector is working on the development of technical materials to support the implementation of Livestock Farmer Field Schools.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>From January 27 to 30, representatives from various institutions linked to Honduran livestock production gathered to review and develop didactic guides and technical sheets on sustainable livestock practices. These materials will serve as technical and methodological support for facilitators implementing Farmer Field Schools (FFS) for livestock producers starting in June in the Agu\u00e1n Valley, Olancho, and southern Honduras.<\/p><p>This initiative is part of the project \"Transforming the Honduran Livestock Sector into a Low-Carbon Economy (MAF-Ganader\u00eda-HN),\" implemented by CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center).<\/p><p><strong>Strengthening Sustainable Livestock in Honduras<\/strong><\/p><p>During the meeting, participants discussed the FFS methodology and its connection with the didactic materials, ensuring their applicability and usefulness in the field. Additionally, previously developed guides were reviewed for approval, and progress was made on the construction of pending materials.<\/p><p>The importance of this effort lies in its long-term impact.
