{"id":34257,"date":"2025-04-29T15:04:22","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T21:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=34257"},"modified":"2025-04-29T15:04:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T21:04:53","slug":"cienpinos-destaca-en-el-xiii-simposio-internacional-sobre-manejo-sostenible-de-los-recursos-forestales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2025\/04\/29\/cienpinos-destaca-en-el-xiii-simposio-internacional-sobre-manejo-sostenible-de-los-recursos-forestales\/","title":{"rendered":"CIENPINOS stands out at the XIII International Symposium on Sustainable Management of Forest Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><em>The project strengthened its presence at the event with presentations on climate governance, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable production in Cuba<\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>With a notable participation, the project CIENPINOS: Municipal Climate Governance and Sustainable Agroforestry Food Production with Low Emissions Adapted to Climate Change in Cienfuegos and Pinar del R\u00edo, Cuba, stood out at the XIII International Symposium on Sustainable Management of Forest Resources (SIMFOR 2025), held at the University of Pinar del R\u00edo Hermanos Saiz Montes de Oca.<\/p><p>CIENPINOS is implemented by CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), with financial support from the Swedish Cooperation, and works to strengthen local capacities to face the challenges of climate change through governance strategies and sustainable agroforestry production.<\/p><p>At SIMFOR 2025, the project participated for the first time with a delegation of nearly 30 members, who presented concrete results and progress in climate governance, sustainable production, and ecosystem resilience.
