The event was organized in collaboration with the MISTRA Sustainable Consumption and EU 1.5\u00b0 Lifestyles projects.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2-768x472.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SCORAI-2-600x368.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p><br><br>The conference brought together more than 400 researchers, policymakers, and professionals from various fields, aiming to foster the exchange of experiences and address key challenges related to sustainable consumption.<\/p><p>Over the three days of the event, scientific sessions and workshops focused on key topics such as transforming consumption and production, technological innovations, alternative models, sustainable food and agriculture, sustainable mobility, and knowledge co-creation, among others.<\/p><p>Representing CATIE, Pablo Evia, researcher at the Environmental Economics and Sustainable Agribusiness Unit (UEAAS\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efdinitiative.org\/central-america\">EfD<\/a>), participated. He shared the progress of the research \u201cAttitudes towards adaptive changes in lifestyles\u201d during the session titled \u201cCharting the Course: Exploring Strategies and Pathways Towards 1.5\u00b0 Lifestyles Amidst Deep Transformation Barriers.\u201d<\/p><p>The research analyzes the degree of social acceptance of measures to change personal consumption habits, especially those that involve individual costs. The study also examines how these attitudes vary among different population sectors according to characteristics such as socioeconomic level, gender, and geographic location.<\/p><p>During his presentation, Evia highlighted: \u201cAddressing the climate crisis requires significant changes in our lifestyles, but also a deep understanding of how people perceive and react to those changes.\u201d<\/p><p>In this regard, the research aims to provide key evidence for the design of public policies that promote the transition towards sustainable lifestyles, while considering their social implications.<\/p><p><strong>Strengthening alliances for international action<\/strong><\/p><p>As part of the conference activities, Evia visited the headquarters of the <em>Environment for Development<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efdinitiative.org\/\">EfD<\/a>) Initiative in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he participated in a working session with the local team.
