{"id":36243,"date":"2025-07-08T14:04:01","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T20:04:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=36243"},"modified":"2025-07-08T14:04:03","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T20:04:03","slug":"graduada-del-catie-es-reconocida-como-una-de-las-50-mujeres-mas-poderosas-del-peru-por-forbes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2025\/07\/08\/graduada-del-catie-es-reconocida-como-una-de-las-50-mujeres-mas-poderosas-del-peru-por-forbes\/","title":{"rendered":"CATIE Graduate Recognized as One of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Peru by Forbes"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><em>Tatiana Espinosa, a forestry engineer and CATIE alumna, is recognized for her leadership in Amazon forest conservation and her commitment to gender equity.<\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>Forestry engineer Tatiana Espinosa Qui\u00f1ones, a graduate of CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) from the 2007\u20132008 cohort of the International Master's Program in Tropical Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation, has been named one of the \u201c50 Most Powerful Women in Peru in 2025\u201d by <a href=\"https:\/\/forbes.pe\/mujeres-poderosas\/2025-06-10\/las-50-mujeres-mas-poderosas-de-peru-en-2025-tatiana-espinosa\">Forbes Per\u00fa.<\/a><\/p><p>Espinosa is the CEO and founder of ARBIO Per\u00fa, an organization that has been protecting and managing 916 hectares of forest in Madre de Dios, deep in the Peruvian Amazon, for the past 15 years. ARBIO, led primarily by women, implements conservation strategies that connect people and companies with the study and protection of the Amazon rainforest.<\/p><p>On social media, the CATIE alumna shared an emotional message after receiving the award:<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36247\" style=\"width:537px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Graduada-del-CATIE3-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p>\u201cThere are still enormous gender gaps\u2014especially outside Lima\u2014but we continue forging a path with commitment, courage, and care.<br>Thanks to those who believe in this cause and to the women who inspire through their actions. True power is collective!\u201d<\/p><p>From CATIE, Director General Dr. Luis Pocasangre extended congratulations to Espinosa:\n\u201cWe congratulate Tatiana for this well-deserved recognition, which is a source of pride for the entire CATIE community. Her work reflects the values we promote as an institution.
