facilitators to scale up resilient practices in the livestock sector<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"translation-block\">CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), within the framework of the project Transforming the Honduran Livestock Sector toward a Low-Carbon Economy (MAF-Ganader\u00eda-HN), held the <strong> first facilitators\u2019 workshop<\/strong> from August 4 to 8 in Comayagua, Honduras, with the goal of providing technical and methodological tools to strengthen field work and coordination with producers.<\/p><p>With intensive training in the following areas:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Value chain analysis:<\/strong> understanding the structure, dynamics, and opportunities for technical, organizational, and commercial improvement of production systems.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Territorial monitoring and MRV system: <\/strong> introduction to tools such as AppSheet and QGIS for the collection, digitization, and verification of field data.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Participatory trials: <\/strong>establishment of demonstration plots of pastures adapted to local conditions.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Communication strategy:<\/strong> strengthening capacities in interviews, audiovisual recording, identification of success stories, and communication of the project\u2019s key messages.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Financial mechanism: <\/strong> development of farm and investment plans, as well as sustainability criteria such as the \u201c0% deforestation\u201d agreement.<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p><br>The workshop was led by CATIE specialists, who guided practical exercises that enabled the facilitators to acquire knowledge immediately applicable in their areas of intervention: Agu\u00e1n, Olancho, and the Southern Zone.<\/p><p>Juan Carlos Flores, national coordinator of the MAF-Ganader\u00eda-HN project emphasized that <em>\u201cthese spaces strengthen not only the technical capacities of the facilitators, but also their role as agents of change who promote low-carbon livestock practices that are resilient to climate change.\u201d<\/em>.<br><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><figure communications specialist, Gina Puerto, underscored the importance of facilitators being able to convey the project\u2019s message clearly and convincingly to different audiences, from producers to authorities and the media.<\/p><p>With this training session, CATIE supports Honduras in the transition toward a more competitive, sustainable livestock sector aligned with international commitments
