REFORES is implemented by CATIE with financial support from the Adaptation Fund, in collaboration with the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE).<br><\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36990\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Refores-Merendon5-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p><br>The Chamelec\u00f3n River basin is strategic for water and forest management in the Sula Valley.
