{"id":38697,"date":"2025-11-13T10:04:40","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T16:04:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/?p=38697"},"modified":"2025-11-18T07:47:24","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T13:47:24","slug":"representantes-gubernamentales-del-estado-de-chiapas-estudian-la-experiencia-de-costa-rica-y-el-catie-para-fortalecer-cadena-de-valor-del-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/en\/2025\/11\/13\/representantes-gubernamentales-del-estado-de-chiapas-estudian-la-experiencia-de-costa-rica-y-el-catie-para-fortalecer-cadena-de-valor-del-cafe\/","title":{"rendered":"Government representatives from the state of Chiapas study the experience of Costa Rica and CATIE to strengthen the coffee value chain"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><em><em>The visit focused on strengthening knowledge and technical capabilities in innovation, production, and quality assurance processes.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>For two days, a delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Labor of the State of Chiapas, Mexico, visited Costa Rica and the CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) campus in Turrialba to explore strategies for adding value to coffee from that state in national and international markets, following the Central American country's model.\u00a0<\/p><p>The delegation was led by Luis Pedrero Gonz\u00e1lez, Secretary of Economy and Labor, who was accompanied by Roberto Borges, Director of Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness Promotion, Gustavo Sol\u00eds, Technical Secretary, Geovani Rosales, Private Secretary, and Dietter Aggeler, Advisor and Director of Roasters &amp; Warehousing Trading Co.<\/p><p>During the tour, they learned about advances in coffee innovation and development by visiting facilities specializing in research and applied technology to improve coffee genetics, productivity, sustainability, and quality, including the International Coffee Collection and CATIE's Biotechnology Laboratory.
