Both events took place in Thailand.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios2-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p>Her participation was in her capacity as coordinator of the Network of Forest and Environmental Communicators of Latin America and the Caribbean (<a href=\"https:\/\/recofalc.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recofalc<\/a>), an initiative of the Forestry Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).<br><\/p><p><br><strong>Global Communication Workshop on Wildfires<\/strong><\/p><p>The workshop was held at the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (Recoftc), located in Bangkok. Representatives from 13 countries and 5 world regions participated, including the Americas (Canada, Costa Rica, and the United States), Europe (Finland, Austria, and Italy), Asia (the Philippines, Nepal, India, Indonesia, and Thailand), Africa (South Africa), and the Mediterranean (Lebanon).<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"531\" height=\"709\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38715\" style=\"width:367px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios3-1.jpg 531w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios3-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Taller-incendios3-1-9x12.jpg 9w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 531px) 100vw, 531px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p>The goal of the workshop was to develop proposals for a new global campaign to prevent wildfires. Contributions from participating countries made it possible to exchange experiences, highlight existing efforts, and chart a path toward a global communication strategy.<\/p><p>\u201cParticipating in the workshop required a lot of work, but it was also an opportunity to share communication efforts that, for example, have been carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean on this issue,\u201d said Arg\u00fcello. &nbsp;<\/p><p>\u201cSpecifically from our region, communication campaigns implemented in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Chile, and Peru were presented, which were compiled and showcased at this workshop thanks to the contributions of various Recofalc members,\u201d added the ACTIVA-CATIE and Recofalc representative.<br><br><\/p><p><strong>International Panel: <em>Communicating Change \u2013 Growing the Solution<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>As part of the 5th Asia-Pacific Forestry Week, held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the FAO organized the side event <em>Communicating Change: Growing the Solution<\/em>, framed under the theme Healthy Forests for a Healthy Future, on November 5.<\/p><p>The panel was moderated by David Ganz, Executive Director of Recoftc, who highlighted the importance of communication in the forestry sector.
