We celebrate this investment, which will strengthen innovation and directly benefit farming families,\u201d stated CATIE\u2019s Director General, Dr. Luis Pocasangre.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p><\/p><p><br>CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) took part in the inauguration of the modernization of the Los Diamantes Innovation Center in Gu\u00e1piles, Lim\u00f3n, Costa Rica. This effort, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the National Institute for Agricultural Technology Innovation and Transfer of Costa Rica (INTA), aims to strengthen the country's agricultural research and extension services.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39075\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.778300807427021;width:504px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/modernizacion2-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p>During the event, CATIE\u2019s Director General, Dr. Luis Pocasangre, shared the institution\u2019s progress in plantain research and production, highlighting the value of collaborative work to bring innovative solutions to the field.<\/p><p>For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, V\u00edctor Carvajal, emphasized the importance of the research\u2013extension partnership to ensure that producers can access new technologies.<\/p><p>The renovated center includes germplasm banks for roots, tubers, and musaceae;
