      • CATIE presented its academic offerings at the fair

August 25, 2022. In Guatemala, the National Secretariat of Science and Technology (SENACYT, its Spanish acronym) is holding the first scholarship fair for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.

Ana Chan, secretary of SENACYT, said that the event seeks that Guatemalans interested in these disciplines opt for national and international scholarships from the more than 25 providers present, which is important because it gives young people the opportunity to strengthen their academic training and also increases the number of Guatemalans in scientific, technological and innovation careers.

CATIE ( Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) participates in this fair presenting its academic offer, which is available for those professionals interested in increasing their knowledge in topics related to forests and biodiversity; integrated watershed and water management; economics; climate change; agroforestry and silvo-pastoral systems; and sustainable agribusiness.

Among the 25 institutions offering services at this fair were the DAAD, Erasmus+ of the European Union, AMEXCID, private universities and embassies from various countries.
