Dominican CATIE Alumni Association sworn in its new board of directors
- This is the Board of Directors for the 2022-2024 term.
October 31, 2022. On October 23, the new Board of Directors of the CATIE Alumni Association of the Dominican Republic (ADECATIE, its Spanish acronym) was sworn in for the period 2022-2024.
This board was elected by unanimous decision on September 25 of this year, in an Ordinary Election Assembly, and was formed as follows:
- Chair: Eladia Gesto de Jesús, graduate of the Master's program in Management and Conservation of Tropical Forests and Biodiversity, class of 2014-2015.
- General Secretary: Esthefany Rodriguez, graduate of the Master's Degree in Management and Integrated Watershed Management, class of 2018-2019.
- Treasurer: César Hilario Céspedes, graduate of the Master's program in Sustainable Agribusiness, class of 2007-2008.
- Communications and Public Relations Secretariat: Yolanny Rojas Mancebo, graduate of the Master's program in Economics, Development and Climate Change, class of 2020-2021.
- Research and Training Secretariat: Luis Alejandro Acosta, graduate of the Master's Degree in Management and Conservation of Tropical Forests and Biodiversity, class of 2019-2020.
- Institutional Relations Secretariat: Alberto Sánchez, graduate of the Master's Degree in Management and Silviculture of Natural Forests, class of 1993-1994.
- Commissariat: Manuel Isidor, graduate of the Master's program in Animal Production, class of 1971-1973.
At this event, Muhammad Ibrahim, CATIE's general director, dedicated some motivational words to the new board of directors, who will be working on an agenda to strengthen the links of Dominican graduates, the association's activities and its link with the headquarters.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Alfredo Mena, CATIE representative in the Dominican Republic; Solhanlle Bonilla, representative of the Electoral Committee of the Board of Directors; and Ana Cristina Moreno, alumni.
ADECATIE is currently the first and only association of CATIE graduates formally registered with legal status in the Dominican Republic.
