CATIE prepared to host the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica on its campus

August 16, 2023. For the first time in the history of Turrialba, the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica will hold a solemn session in the canton. The session will take place on August 17, on the campus of CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), in the Ex-Directors Room of the Henry A. Wallace Building.
This event will mark a milestone, commemorating the 120th anniversary of the canton of Turrialba, the 50th anniversary of CATIE, and the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Guayabo National Monument.
The deputies will be received at CATIE with cultural presentations by the community of Turrialba starting at 8 a.m., and the solemn session will begin at 10 a.m.
After the session concludes at noon, the legislators will tour various CATIE stands to learn about the institution's impact in promoting Inclusive Green Development.
Muhammad Ibrahim, CATIE's general director, expressed his satisfaction in welcoming the deputies to Turrialba, highlighting the Center's commitment to the development of the Turrialba community.
