- The program, developed within the AGROMIRA platform, promotes innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness in agribusiness across Latin America.
CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) announces the opening of enrollment for the International Diploma in Innovation in Sustainable Agribusiness (IAgros), a training program designed to strengthen leadership and technical capacities for those working or undertaking initiatives in the agri-food sector. The diploma will begin in March 2026 and has a total duration of 16 weeks, distributed across three specialized modules.
This program is developed within AGROMIRA, the international platform promoted by CATIE that fosters knowledge, innovation, and collaboration among stakeholders to transform agri-food systems toward more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient models. From this vision, IAgros combines high-impact agribusiness approaches with practical tools and applied content tailored to the current context of the sector.

A diploma to transform agri-food systems
Aimed at technicians, professionals, and entrepreneurs, the diploma seeks to strengthen competencies in innovation, sustainability, business management, and digitalization, incorporating the transversal use of artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making and efficiency. The modules include technical content and practical tools:
- Induction: Familiarization with the methodology, the Moodle virtual classroom, and the transversal use of AI.
- Innovation for the agri-food sector: Trends, strategies, and cases that help identify opportunities for improvement and transformation.
- Value chains and sustainability: Actor analysis, articulation strategies, and value-added generation for more resilient agribusinesses.
- Financial management for agribusiness: Access to financing, evaluation of mechanisms, and tools to strengthen enterprises and MSMEs.
Additionally, each module will include a specialized session on artificial intelligence, and participants will have access to an exclusive GPT per module, designed to enhance learning and facilitate practical application of the content.
An optional session will also be offered on approaches and tools for effective collaboration with communities or project management, depending on participant demand.
Accessible virtual modality and personalized support
The diploma will be delivered in a virtual modality with cloud-based materials, videos, readings, presentations, and synchronous Zoom sessions. The program includes options for digital or printed certification, along with ongoing academic support from CATIE’s Agribusiness team.
The cost of the diploma is approximately USD 1200, depending on the enrollment period, with special end-of-year promotions available for those who register early.
IAgros is an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers, build strong foundations for entrepreneurship, or strengthen their performance in organizations, cooperatives, enterprises, or agri-food companies. Its updated and practical approach positions it as a high-value program for professionals across Latin America.
