CATIE present at the transition of governments 2022 in Costa Rica

• Through CATIE's director general, Muhammad Ibrahim, the institution was present at the reception of the new president of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves.

May 9, 2022. Last Sunday, May 8, the 2022 transfer of power ceremony took place, marking the beginning of a new presidential administration by Rodrigo Chaves, who became the 49th president of Costa Rica.

More than 100 international delegations, organizations and institutions participated in the event, among them CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), represented by its Director General, Muhammad Ibrahim, who was present as a show of support for this special democratic celebration.

During the activity, Ibrahim had the opportunity to meet with delegates from the United Arab Emirates, as well as with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Costa Rica, Ben Lyster-Binns, and other important delegates.
