CATIE and Verto Education renew agreement to promote Turrialba as an educational destination
- The signing took place this Tuesday, May 9 and expects to receive more than 200 students by August 2023.
May 10, 2023. For the third consecutive year, CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) and Verto Education program sign a new collaboration agreement with the purpose of facilitating students from the United States to visit Turrialba, expand their knowledge and learning, while being surrounded by diverse nature, culture, gastronomy and traditions.
Since 2021, this alliance has strengthened student exchange and positively impacted the economy of the Turrialba community, allowing the demand for local products and services, as well as the promotion of tourism and rural development.
“This alliance represents a great challenge for our institution; renewing this agreement for the third consecutive year obliges us to improve the services we offer and provide better and better experiences for our students. This is yet another way to celebrate our 50th anniversary," said Carlos Araya, CATIE's Director of Green Business Development, Resource Mobilization and Strategic Alliances.
Verto Education program is a student exchange abroad program that works with U.S. universities and provides students with the opportunity for multidisciplinary learning, whereby they can gain valuable skills and tools for personal and professional development while exploring new environments.
CATIE would like to thank Mitch Gordon, executive director of Verto Education program, director of the program in Costa Rica, as well as all the staff that accompanies them for their confidence in our institution.
