CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) announced the opening of enrollment for the International Diploma in Innovation in Sustainable Agribusiness (IAgros), an academic program designed to strengthen the capacities of technicians, professionals, and entrepreneurs linked to the agrifood sector in Latin America.
The diploma will be delivered in a virtual format starting in March 2026, with a total duration of 16 weeks. It is part of AGROMIRA, the international platform promoted by CATIE that fosters innovation, applied knowledge, and stakeholder coordination to transform agrifood systems toward more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient models.
IAgros is structured into three modules: Innovation for the Agrifood Sector; Value Chains and Sustainability in Agribusiness; and Financial Management for Agribusiness. In addition, the program offers an optional module focused on either community collaboration or project management, depending on participants’ interests.
The teaching staff is composed of CATIE specialists with extensive experience in agribusiness, innovation, and sustainability. Each module combines technical content with practical tools and case studies relevant to the current context of the sector, incorporating dedicated sessions on artificial intelligence and the use of a module-specific GPT to support learning and decision-making.
Key benefits of the diploma include its flexible virtual format, continuous academic support, access to cloud-based materials, synchronous Zoom sessions, and the opportunity to obtain a digital certificate issued by CATIE. The program is designed to enable the immediate application of acquired knowledge in projects, ventures, companies, or institutions within the agrifood sector.
The general cost of the diploma is USD 1,200; however, CATIE offers special discounts based on participant profiles. Notably, a 35% early-bird discount is available to the first 20 individuals who complete their enrollment. Additional benefits are available for graduates of the GANEMOS master’s program, AGROMIRA participants, CATIE staff and alumni, as well as special rates for corporate groups.
