Scaling up the Training of Trainers program to strengthen low-carbon livestock production in Honduras

- Within the framework of the MAF-Ganadería-HN project, the capacities of facilitators are being strengthened with a gender and social inclusion approach.
CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center), through the project Transforming the Honduran livestock sector toward low-carbon livestock production, known as MAF-Ganadería-HN, promoted the scaling-up workshop of the Training of Trainers Program (PCC), held in Comayagua from February 9 to 13.

The training space strengthened the methodological capacities of field facilitators in Farmer Field Schools (ECA), as well as in social inclusion and gender approach, with the purpose of improving the quality of technical support provided to livestock producers in the project’s intervention areas.
The event was attended by 35 representatives from partner organizations such as SAG–PROINORTE, Heifer International, ODEF, the REFORES project, the World Food Programme (WFP), ADED Valle, and ADEPES, consolidating interinstitutional coordination for technical assistance in the territory.
As part of the scaling-up process, actions will be implemented in prioritized regions of Olancho, Yoro, Atlántida, Colón, Choluteca, and Valle, providing participatory technical assistance to livestock producers to advance toward more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive systems, in alignment with the pathway toward the Livestock NAMA in Honduras.
