Embassy of Paraguay in Costa Rica and CATIE seek to reactivate cooperation

• Paraguay is one of the 13 member countries of the institution

October 20, 2022. The general director of CATIE, Muhammad Ibrahim, met on October 20 with the Paraguayan ambassador in Costa Rica, José Félix Fernández, to inform him about the existing technical cooperation between CATIE and Paraguay. This was within the framework of the negotiation of Paraguay's membership as a member country of the Center with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

After the meeting, the Ambassador indicated he will make a recommendation to the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock to strengthen cooperation with CATIE in the areas of higher education, implementing projects and training, especially for CATIE's experience in the development of climate resilient agri-food systems.
